Tourism and technology continue to shape our world, bringing joy, economic growth, and global understanding—proving that exploring the world enriches us all.

Even if it’s hard to believe, in what only seems to have been weeks, another full year is (almost) over. Being fortunate enough to work closely at the crossroads of tourism and technology, we have the privilege of observing progress in both domains firsthand, sitting in the front row. Tourism continues to grow strongly, and this is a good thing. Yes, in some regions and “hotspots,” regulations are useful to better spread the influx and ensure a responsible balance. But overall, tourism is extremely valuable: it is not only a source of pleasure for the individual, it also has hugely positive effects on local economies and contributes to a peaceful world. As Humboldt said: “The most dangerous worldviews are the worldviews of those who have never viewed the world.”

But it’s not only the growth of tourism that amazes us; so too does the development in technology, especially AI. Sure, some developments are overhyped, but others might still have a more powerful effect on work and society than we can foresee today. What can already be achieved is nothing short of spectacular, and from all our (partly back room) conversations with true experts in the field, one thing seems to be clear: we ain’t seen nothing yet!

Unfortunately, what we still see far too much in this world, is misery and pain. Organizations like Médecins Sans Frontières are doing immensely important and valuable work, and we are more than happy to continue our annual holiday tradition of supporting their efforts with our donation.

To all our customers, partners, and friends around the world, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and success, health, and happiness for yourself and all your loved ones in the New Year!
